FITZ Maurice

An artist with 21st Century vision. Classically trained in New York and Europe, with a hand on the future, creating only fine art. The artist's goal is that the paintings reveal the truth that is in the essence of beauty and see it connect others to their higher-self, their spirit.

  • 2012 - 2017 On the QUEST - traveling to and painting “live” in each of the 59 National Parks in America.


  • 2014 Laguna Design Center - Solo Exhibition, California
    – 3,000 sq. ft. gallery - retrospective of a lifetime of painting achievements.


  • 2011 The Art Miles Mural Project, New York
    – (12 year old nonprofit organization ) asked FITZ Maurice to paint a 12 x 5 foot MURAL, that will be dedicated to the Manhattan Memorial Museum, where it will be exhibited during the New York 9/11, 2011 TRIBUTE  to the victims and their families. This Mural entitled "TRIUMPH" will tour worldwide to encourage good triumphing over evil.


  • 2009 N.Y.C. Unisphere, Inc. Gala, New York
    – Mayor Bloomberg honored internationally acclaimed artist FITZ Maurice with New York Unisphere Award for creating the Symbol of Tolerance, promoting "mutual respect" between nationalities worldwide.


  • 2009 Queens Museum of Fine Art, New York
    - One-artist exhibition "Common Ground"


  • 2001 Jackson Pollock-Lee Krasner New York Award
    - Artists world-wide apply; only exceptional artists win based on 20 years of painting professionally.


  • 2002 Paris Triennale, France
    - represented the U.S. in Grande Arche National Monument, Paris, show juried by members of the French Fine Arts Academy, Institute de France, Cultural National Department and Art Critics.


  • 2001 Florence Biennale, Italy
    - represented the U.S. in this International Exhibition juried by International Art Critics and Museum Directors.


  • 1993 United Nations World Conference in Vienna, Austria
    - FITZ Maurice’s painting was chosen as the symbol of Human Rights by the ISHR, exhibited during the World Conference, and Posters of the painting were displayed throughout Vienna. Front Page of the Los Angeles Times Newspaper.


  • 1992 The German Parliament, Germany
    exhibited FITZ Maurice’s paintings as the artistic rendition of the Reunification of Germany.  The Parliament purchased a painting for their permanent collection.Berlin: Metamorphosis Collection toured Germany for 3 years.


  • 1990 Kamchatka Museum, Russia
    Purchased a painting for their permanent collection.
